DECEMBER 2022 - POST WARLEY UPDATE

Warley 2022

Cavalex Models at Warley 2022

It was great to be back at Warley for the first time in three years following the pandemic and nice to see the show well supported by the modelling community. Our thanks to Warley Model Railway Club for organising the event and to all the visitors to our stand over the weekend. We thoroughly enjoyed talking about our projects and displaying the latest samples.

Our thanks to the Cavalex team for their help at the show.

Cavalex Models’ Class 56 - painted samples on display at Warley 2022

A lot has happened over the past three years since the last Warley show in 2019 and on reflection despite the challenges, Cavalex has continued to evolve and innovate whilst delivering highly detailed model railway products. Our range of wagons has expanded with the arrival of the BBA and BLA models, the KFA Warflats exclusive to Trains4U, the TEA bogie tank wagons and the first two batches of our HAA wagons.

The hard work continues behind the scenes as Cavalex work on new projects for the coming years. Lots of exciting projects in development!

N Gauge PGA Wagon

Cavalex Models’ N gauge PGA wagon - pre-production samples

We have been waiting for a production slot at the factory, the factory is now undertaking final preparations to commence production.

Estimated delivery is expected Q2 2023.

The wagons are available to pre-order now from Rails of Sheffield

PHA/JGA Bogie Hopper Wagon

Early October we received painted samples of our PHA/JGA bogie hopper wagons in Bardon Hill Quarries and Bardon Aggregates liveries.

We are now awaiting revised painted samples as we were not happy with some of the colours on the models and these are expected from the factory at the end of this month.

We are aware that some parts have been incorrectly fitted, such as the disc brake wheels being fitted to the samples. This along with other observations have been passed to the factory for attention ahead of the updated painted samples.

This project is due to go into production early in 2023 with delivery to the U.K. expected towards the end of Q2 2023.

We will be contacting customers that have pre-ordered in the new year.

We are pleased to have received the first two batches of our HAA project which have been delivered and in stock to order from KMS Railtech and Trains4U . The factory is working hard to deliver the rest of the range as soon as practically possible.

We would like to thank everyone for their patience and understanding over the past few months during this challenging period.

The factory have advised that the remainder of the range is due to be shipped later this month including our highly anticipated CDA china clay hoppers.

Cavalex Models’ PHA/JYA wagons - Engineering Prototype samples

Just in time for Warley, we received the first Engineering Prototype samples of our PHA/JYA Bogie Box Wagon in collaboration with Ultimate Model Railways.

There are a few minor tweaks to be made, however we are really happy with how they are shaping up and feel that the model definitely captures the look of the prototype.

At this stage the factory has been testing the moulds, and checking parts and assembly.

A comprehensive review of the samples has been made and our feedback sent to the factory ahead of the painted samples.

Class 56 Project

We have reached a milestone as a company, the arrival of working painted samples of our Class 56 locomotive.

The detail and finesse on the model is incredible, see-through cantrail grilles, full relief bogie detail with a wealth of separately fitted parts (with over 36 separately fitted detail parts alone per bogie), prototypical dials on the driver’s desk, fine roof fan grille mesh, highly detailed kick plate below the cab door, to say that we were blown away by the painted samples is an understatement.

The model captures the prototype so well, with both Romanian and later Doncaster style cabs authentically recreated.
