60022 - Ingleborough

Following the success of 56091, 60029, 56103/56045 and 56103, Cavalex Models are incredibly proud to announce the first release for the second run of our Class 60 project – DCRail’s 60022 Ingleborough.

We have worked closely with DCRail for a number of months to help take an idea/concept through to a formal design to be reproduced on 60022.

The livery has been developed from extensive research, consultation, and historical information to allow 60022 to be outshopped in its new MR colours. To link with the history of the Class 60, the locomotive is painted in the style of the only other locomotive of the Class to carry a historic railway livery, no. 60081 ‘Isambard Kingdom Brunel’.

Further information on the project can be found below:

We at Cavalex are vey proud to have been part of this incredible project and grateful to DCRail for the opportunity to play a role in the return to active service of 60022. We have a number of initial samples of 60022, with further tweaks to be made on the production versions.

Further information will be provided in due course regarding our exclusive model of 60022 and other forthcoming releases.

50th Anniversay

August 2026 is the 50th anniversary of the first Class 56s having arrived in the U.K. for British Rail. It is truly remarkable that these fine machines are still being used today, a testament to the engineering prowess of the past.

The ‘Grid’ will always be a special part of Cavalex history being our first 4mm scale Locomotive - we are looking forward to celebrating the anniversary further over the next few months!

We will shortly be commencing production, which will mean the order book will be closing in the coming weeks. As a result we would recommend contacting your Cavalex stockist to pre-order our next locomotive.

Our thanks to Richard Bentley and The Watercress Line for their help recently with access to 47579. A full update on the project will be provided soon.

Our thanks to Ian and the team for allowing us to give 47710 a run out at last weekend’s DEMU Showcase exhibition.
